Rangers slump to Carling Cup defeat against Vale

And so it continues… QPR’s Cup form is truly atrocious. Ok, the Carling Cup has proved more fruitful than the FA Cup over the last decade, which isn’t hard as we currently have the worst record of every team in the Football League in the latter, but we are still shambles when it comes to Cup football….

Warnock 1 – 1 Sousa

Former QPR manager Paulo Sousa returned to Loftus Road, for the first time since leaving the club in acrimonious circumstances last April, with high flying Swansea on Saturday. The Swans have proved difficult opposition to break down all season and it was no surprise that the game unfolded into a gritty affair, with both teams putting in workmanlike displays….

Let the good times roll AGAIN!

When Neil Warnock was first appointed Rangers manager I wasn’t initially convinced, but as the week wore on I began to the warm to the idea and by the time Saturday arrived I was, dare I say it, pretty pleased that he had been named our 5th manager of the season.

A passionate, determined and often detestable character. Warnock is exactly what we need. An old school manager, who will not so much shake, but hopefully throttle the club from top to bottom. We desperately need someone to come in and bang the players heads together, get them playing together as a team again and give us something to cheer about. And I believe Warnock can be that man.

QPR 0 – 3 Weather

The weather became the latest opponent to defeat QPR this week with heavy rain putting paid to the midweek duel against Watford and claiming its 3rd Loftus Road postponement of the season in the process….

Another fine mess…

I have watched my fair share of crap supporting QPR. I’ve seen us being torn apart more times than I like to remember down the years, with particular lowlights being the 5-0 walloping dished out by Southend and the 4-1 defeat at Oxford…

Hart’s honeymoon over before it starts

With every new managerial appointment there is a general consensus that a new boss often enjoys a ‘honeymoon period’ at the beginning of their tenure in charge. A new man at the helm often signals a fresh start to all players concerned and as a result they are all eager to impress and win a first team spot.

Although there is some debate as to whether this ‘honeymoon period’ really exists, (Grimsby Town boss Neil Woods would be firmly in the nada camp) the myth that a new manager can bring short term success still prevails amongst football fanatics.

New Queens Park Rangers manager Paul Hart saw his ‘honeymoon period’ come to an abrupt end with a chorus of boos in only his 2nd game in charge of the Championship club. After a 1-1 home draw with Sheffield United, Hart’s Rangers then saw off Bristol City 2-1 at Loftus Road on Boxing Day.

Rangers thrashed 5-1 by Middlesbrough

It is 24 hours since QPR were given a footballing lesson by Middlesbrough at Loftus Road. A performance which was totally unacceptable from a club with ambitions of reaching the Premier League come May 2010.

In truth I don’t really want to say too much about the game as I’d rather not go over what was a shocking shift from the men boys in Hoops. To say we weren’t at the races would be one way to gloss over a terrible 90 minutes of football….

Rangers deny Boro the title… sort of.

The last time Rangers faced Middlesbrough something quite peculiar happened. No not that we won, but we completely obliterated Boro – running out 5-0 winners at Loftus Road.

Looking back I recall checking Teletext at different intermissions in the game not quite believing what was being presented on the television.

A Steve Vickers own-goal and strikes from Paul Bruce, Kevin Gallen and Mike Sheron helped the Hoops to a 4-0 advantage before half-time. Sheron grabbed his second and Rangers’ 5th inside 8 minutes of the re-start to seal the biggest victory of the 1997-98 campaign…

Does Angry Dan really enjoy watching the Hoops?

As I am sure you are only too well aware of, watching QPR can often be a miserable affair, but thankfully this season has actually been quite entertaining. In fact I’d go so far to say that this season is by far the most exciting I have ever witnessed with the prospect of Premier League football not just a pipe dream. Yep, it’s pretty damn good being a QPR fan right now, but there’s one so-called supporter who doesn’t seem as happy as most…

5 observations from the Coventry game

Rangers were held 2-2 by Coventry at Loftus Road on Saturday, here’s what we made of it all…
