And so it continues… QPR’s Cup form is truly atrocious. Ok, the Carling Cup has proved more fruitful than the FA Cup over the last decade, which isn’t hard as we currently have the worst record of every team in the Football League in the latter, but we are still shambles when it comes to Cup football….
QUOTE OF THE WEEK: “I’m still looking at bringing some players in, absolutely. It showed tonight – if we want to be at the top end of the table then we’ve got to improve the squad.“ – Neil Warnock.
The suggestion that QPR’s recent history has been even mildly epic is as ridiculous as putting the name ‘Zesh Rehman’ and words ‘competent central defender’ in the same sentence.
Epic? No. Nowhere near. But that’s exactly what Amazon is sticking with to explain the contents of Mick Kelly’s Hooped Dreams. To be precise they have called the book an ‘epic story of QPR’s recent transformation’.
It’s the biggest surprise since JR Ewing got shot, but it’s no dream – Blackpool are a Premier League side. Who would have guessed the fairytale ending that culminated in the Tangerines thrilling 3-2 victory over Cardiff in the Championship Play-of final?
Rangers will aim to end their rollercoaster campaign with victory over champions Newcastle United on Sunday, but what will the expectation levels be for Neil Warnock and his team heading into the 2010-11 season?
Amid the backdrop of Neil Warnock returning to Selhurst Park for the first time since leaving Crystal Palace, QPR all but guaranteed their Championship survival with an impressive 2-0 win over Paul Hart’s side on Saturday…
Just when we were thinking it’s safe to sigh a collective breath of relief, QPR get walloped 4-0 at Leicester and every other result seems to go against us at the bottom of the Championship to leave us 3pts clear of the relegation zone….
Former QPR manager Paulo Sousa returned to Loftus Road, for the first time since leaving the club in acrimonious circumstances last April, with high flying Swansea on Saturday. The Swans have proved difficult opposition to break down all season and it was no surprise that the game unfolded into a gritty affair, with both teams putting in workmanlike displays….
Gianni Paladini gave a radio interview to JNET Radio tonight in which he was heralded as a ‘hero’ by one excitable Rangers fan who called the show. For the most part the questions were kind to Paladini, with a protective presenter willing to step in and divert the conversation from being controversial in any shape or form. So, what did we learn from the Italian tonight? Well in no particular order here is what Paladini said…
When Neil Warnock was first appointed Rangers manager I wasn’t initially convinced, but as the week wore on I began to the warm to the idea and by the time Saturday arrived I was, dare I say it, pretty pleased that he had been named our 5th manager of the season.
A passionate, determined and often detestable character. Warnock is exactly what we need. An old school manager, who will not so much shake, but hopefully throttle the club from top to bottom. We desperately need someone to come in and bang the players heads together, get them playing together as a team again and give us something to cheer about. And I believe Warnock can be that man.
